About

Hello, My name is Jessi B. and this is my first real attempt at blogging. I am not really a writer but I would like a place to put my thoughts and feelings out there and hopefully share something interesting with the world.

My husband Zak and I got married in October 2009, and for the first year of our marriage, lived in a tiny carriage house, behind a big Victorian mansion in a very beautiful neighborhood in Denver. This is how my blog got its name. Now we have moved on from the carriage house, bought a duplex and live in one half while renting out the other. Our first child, Elinor, is due in August 2011.

In the few years I have been out of college, I have gone from working a 9-5 desk job to teaching yoga, a long time dream of mine. Much of my time is taken up by teaching yoga, practicing yoga, and educating myself on traditional yoga philosophy, as well as human anatomy and physiology. I am also the primary homemaker in our family and I strive to run our house on the principals of simplicity, and environmental and economical sustainability. My husband and I attempt to maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating nourishing, whole foods, and exercising regularly.

Other than that, I love cooking, gardening, learning how to sew, rehabbing old furniture, and turning random junk into beautiful and useful home artifacts.

This blog will chronicle my many adventures in the kitchen, my vegetable garden, my yoga classes, my ideas for setting up a beautiful home on a small budget, and any other random things that inspire me.

Thank you so much for visiting my little online world, please feel free to email me if you have any questions, suggestions, or just want to say hi!
